Hunts Hole maar   31° 55.222'N  106° 57.417'W 4,202'

H/P2 rated site.

Potentially flyable with winds from any direction.  Winds from any direction other than W or SW are more challenging as the rim is lower in all but the east part of the maar.

The east launch here for Hunt's is good because the site is clear of brush and obstacles. If the wind comes in from the east over 10, the ridge should be soarable. Few have ever flown maars in the world.  First time pilots should have a guide. Contact us. Note: These areas are very remote! No cell phone coverage, no power, no good roads, no help ... not much of anything. It's only been flown one time by PG pilot Had Robinson (below).  Generally, the same precautions apply to Hunts as to Kilbourne.  Hunts is a few miles south of Kilbourne.  For directions and info, see the info on Kilbourne.
